Are your jewelry boxes too small to properly store your jewelry? If
they are, then you may either have to lay your jewels down in a small
drawer, or you may have to leave them lying along the bottom of the
box.
However, you may soon discover that your necklaces have somehow
found a way to wind themselves around each other. Have you lost many
pieces of jewelry this way? If you have, then you should get a necklace
organizer to keep everything straight and safe.
Buying a large jewelry box can also keep your necklaces in good condition. The biggest kind has legs, and stands on its own. Personally, I don’t want one of these. This is mostly because I don’t have a lot of jewelry, and a very large jewelry box would leave me feeling a bit inadequate.
There’s nothing like an almost empty jewelry box to remind you of how little jewelry you have. However, large jewelry boxes can be a good type of necklace organizer if you have a lot of jewelry. This is because they often come with hooks so that you can hang your necklaces individually. This prevents them from getting tangled together, and it also makes them relatively easy to get to.
You can also purchase smaller boxes that come with the same sort of necklace organizer. The drawback with this type is that they don’t have enough space for anything else. There may be a few drawers for rings and earrings, but the necklace organizer takes up much of the space. Anyway, this type is cheaper and might be ideal if you only have a few pieces to store.
There is also a type of necklace organizer that is not a jewelry box. I have seen a treelike design, which has all kinds of hooks for hanging jewelry. This type can be made of metal or plastic, and can be placed almost anywhere. However, even though my necklaces would have hung on this design just fine, it was far too tempting for the toddler in my home.
If you are unable to find a suitable necklace organizer, you can make one yourself. All you need is a can of paint, a long thin board, and a number of very small hooks. Paint the board with a color that match your bedroom décor and attached the hooks to the board.
You now have something that not only works as a good necklace organizer; it can also store your favorite pair of earrings as well. It’s also inexpensive, easy to make, and can be hung high enough to keep any toddler’s curious little fingers away.
