The Proper Way to Clean Jewelry E-mail
I discovered that some of my silver jewelry were beginning to tarnish several weeks ago. I immediately went to the local Walgreens to try to find something that would clean jewelry without causing any damage.

However, I felt that all of their products that are designed to clean jewelry contain some very harsh chemicals that might damage my jewelry. None of the products that were for sale on the local Walgreens was safe enough to use on my jewelry.

I decided to ask my mom and the ladies at my workplace for household products that could safely clean all my jewelry. Most of them suggested that I should use toothpaste.

They said that toothpaste can clean any piece of jewelry as long as it is made of silver. I decided to try it because I was pretty confident that the bulk of my jewelry was silver.

I put a small amount of toothpaste on my index finger and massaged it gently over the tarnished silver. To my surprise, I found that using toothpaste was a great way to clean jewelry. The tarnish disappeared and my jewelry were restored to their to a lovely, bright silver.

You should do a little bit of research before you try anything if you are looking for a way to clean jewelry that are not made of silver. Your jewelry may tarnish and may become impossible to clean in the future if you use an untried product. The toothpaste worked on my jewelry but I do not think that it will work very well on brass or nickel jewelry.

I discovered that my silver jewelry keeps getting tarnished because I keep them very near my bathroom. The moisture that is in the air every time I take a shower settles on my jewelry and causes it to tarnish.

I have not made finding a better place to move my jewelry a priority because using the toothpaste has been so easy. You may keep your jewelry in some sort of container to protect it from moist air if the moisture is causing your jewelry to tarnish.

You should ask your friends and other ladies about their ideas on how to clean jewelry. Older, wiser women always have the best answers is when it comes to household questions.

You may find something that will do the trick lying around your house before you go out and spend any money on a product that claims to clean jewelry.
